What is Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal is a procedure that uses a concentrated beam of light (laser) to reduce unwanted hair.
Laser hair removal is a treatment that uses short pulses of light energy to damage hair follicles, which helps to prevent regrowth. This treatment is known to give the most effective, longest-lasting hair reduction results.
Although laser hair removal delays hair growth for long periods, it usually doesn’t result in permanent hair removal. Multiple laser hair removal treatments are needed for initial hair reduction, and maintenance treatments are generally needed as well.
Laser hair removal is suitable for men and women with all skin tones. It works on your whole body, including sensitive areas such as your face and bikini line. Popular targets include facial hair, leg hair, bikini area, underarm hair, back and chest hair.

We offer a range of laser hair reduction treatments and packages for women and males in Leicester and Oxford.

What are the benefits of Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal is used to reduce unwanted hair effectively. The most common treatment locations include legs, armpits, upper lip, chin, and the bikini line. However, it’s possible to treat unwanted hair in nearly every area, except the eyelid or surrounding area.
Hair colour and skin type influence the success of laser hair reduction. The basic principle is that the pigment of the hair, but not the pigment of the skin, should absorb the light. The laser should damage only the hair follicle while avoiding damage to the skin.
Laser hair removal can achieve reduction of up to 90%. Any hair that does grow back will be finer, lighter and softer, with the additional benefit of smoother skin.
Laser hair removal largely reduces the need for shaving and waxing, so no more ingrown hairs, shaving rash or stubble. Lasers are more effective when hair is in the early growth stage.
Xlase Plus is generally suitable for all skin tones and for most body areas and types of hair. Skin with tattoos should not be treated either.
Because hairs will not all be in the same stage at the same time, multiple treatment sessions will usually be needed to achieve permanent hair reduction. Xlase Plus clients and treatment providers alike report high levels of satisfaction and long-term effectiveness following the laser hair removal process.
